Casanova’s Journey:
From Farm to Stage and Kitchen
In the early 1960s, Casanova was a lanky teenager with big dreams, spending his days on a quiet farm but with his mind set on the big city life and the electric world of music.
Inspired by the energy of the era, he imagined himself singing under bright lights, feeling the pull of rhythm and soul. But his grandmother, Rosetta, wanted to make sure he was grounded, a man of good character, able to take care of himself and treat others with respect.

Rosetta took Casanova under her wing, teaching him not only how to cook but how to be a gentleman. In her kitchen, he learned to make Southern soul food – cooking that’s all about tradition, love, and family. Through her recipes, Rosetta instilled life lessons about hard work, humility, and taking pride in whatever you do.
Casanova joined the Marines Corps at a young age, rising through the ranks to become a respected Sergeant Major. But even through his military journey, he carried Rosetta’s lessons with him. After his service, Casanova returned to his roots, becoming both a soulful singer and a chef, creating meals inspired by his grandmother’s recipes.
After serving his country in the Marines, Casanova yearned for a life filled with sunshine and good food, just like Grandma Rosettra’s kitchen. San Diego’s sunny skies and relaxed atmosphere reminded him of her warm hospitality. It was the perfect place to start a new chapter and honor her legacy by sharing her love of cooking.
Today, he performs as Casanova, capturing audiences with his smooth voice and charming stage presence. And when he’s not on stage, he’s in the kitchen, cooking Southern soul food the way his grandmother taught him, bringing back the flavors, memories, and love that she poured into every dish.
